Boot Sector Not Found
Do
not be fooled by the word *boot* sector, it has less to do
with
booting your PC and more to do with a with your partition. A
corrupt or missing Boot Sector could be a serious problem.
Without
it the partition can not be accessed and your PC would be dead.
Technically, There is an incorrect value in the
Partition Boot Record (PBR) on the hard disk. Any computer with a
mis-match in the number of read/write heads reported by the Partition
Boot Record and the system BIOS will likely report a 'Boot Sector Not
Found.'
Possible
(but not all) symptoms include:
- Invalid
media type reading drive
- Abort,
Retry, Fail?
- File system
is displayed as "RAW"
- Windows may
ask if you want to format the drive
- File names
contain "weird" characters
- "Sector not
found" messages
